Our school aims to be a safe community for all, irrespective of age, gender, disability, sexuality, ethnicity or social/economic status.
We recognise the importance of having a diverse community of students and staff who value one another and are proud of their identities. We strive to promote the contributions students and staff can make to one another.
It is our duty, as students and staff, to work together to eliminate discrimination in all forms. To be courageous and help those in need and promote an environment where all are encouraged to succeed and seize opportunities to fulfil their potential.
My concerns with this statement are the following:
- Is it too simple?
- Are we under-representing any groups of people?

Regarding the goals of the equalities group being made accessible to all, are you referring to the school’s equalities goals as adopted by the governors?

From what I can tell, the statement is perfect. it is a bit simplistic in the fact that it doesn’t go quite into detail of what happens to people who are caught committing any type of discrimination, but it doesn’t really need to because it is an overall statement just entailing that we don’t tolerate discrimination as a school in any shape or form. Its simplicity also helps more people understand what the schools goals are in the way of equality at this school, If it is made too complicated, less people may understand fully. In terms of groups I dont believe one is represented more than the other, so I have no problems with it.
