Equalities Meeting – PSHE with Mr Goldsmith

Apologies – Ms Lucking, Dewi, Albion

Metting with Mr Bull did not take place and will need to be rescheduled.

When does PSHE take place? Mr Goldsmith went through the structure of how PSHE should be delivered in form time, but fully acknowledged that this would need to be audited. He suggested that it should be audited through ‘student voice’ and the group was informed that hopefully there would be a new staff member assgned to this role.

Possible PSHE Topics are listed below, these will be shared with MR Goldsmith and he will explore how these match with the DFE documents he has been given by Mr Bull.

  • Autism Awareness Week and Science Week coincide this year
  • Human Rights and the Rights of the Child (the group were asked to name these rights, the results were mixed)
  • Acting respectfully towards each other
  • Communicating respectfully (Obai)
  • Empathy (Kaleb & Casper)
  • Peer pressure
  • The dangers of ‘Banta’. Cameron has proposed delivering assemblies to different year groups
  • Life beyond school
  • Gang Culture

Mr Goldsmith suggested a monthly meeting where he comes to the Equalities group.
